Secretary - Raechel Anderson Dressler, MBA, CPC
630-215-4857
RaechelAD@gmail.com

Raechel is a certified professional coach and founder and owner of The W.A.Y. Coaching. Raechel coaches two very distinctive groups of people: those planning a wedding and those who are affected by mental illness. While they are two vastly different types of clients, her passion for coaching both stems out of passions that Raechel has: event planning, big picture and perspective mastery, empathy and understanding for the mentally ill and their families, and moving forward “regardless.”

Raechel’s professional background includes extensive experience in corporate and business administration. In 1996, Raechel began a 10-year journey with the desire to work from the “ground up” to fully appreciate all aspects of leadership and management in businesses. Over the course of those 10 years, Raechel served in nearly all roles that exist in today’s small to mid-size businesses, starting as a receptionist and ending as a President and Chief Executive Officer. Since then, Raechel has primarily acted as an outside consultant for many small to mid-sized businesses, but still maintains some Vice President and Board roles.

Additionally, Raechel is an inspirational speaker on mental illness and participates on a speaker’s circuit for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Raechel draws on her own personal experiences when she speaks and relates to a variety of audiences, such as students of psychology and psychiatry in undergraduate, graduate, and medical schools; physicians and psychiatrists; mental illness support groups; family and church groups; and the patients in local psychiatric units. One of Raechel’s life purposes is to be a part of the eradication of stigma attached to mental illness.

Raechel is married to Peter, a lawyer, accountant, and outside controller. She has a beautiful and brilliant 12-year old step-daughter, Alene, and has the blessing of participating in the upbringing of her adorable and amazing 3-year old niece, Ellie Belle. Other immediate family members include 2 black cats: Igloo (a/k/a Moose or Iggy) and Barrett (a/k/a Pookies or Trouble).

Raechel has a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy, History, and Political Science from Judson College and a Masters in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. Raechel’s coach training was done through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), from which she received the designation of Certified Professional Coach.

Alliance - Denise Bouchard, ACC, CPCC
847-372-5839
phoenixdmb@aol.com

Denise Bouchard Denise is the ultimate entrepreneur having started her first successful company at the age of twenty two. She overcame two obstacles in her first business venture; one being her age and the second being a woman in the then male dominated world of telecommunications. While successfully building this venture she not only sold products and services but installed them as well. Her coaching skills started to be developed here as she trained her clients not only on the use of her equipment but on how to increase their business through the use of technology.

While being a partner in several successful telecommunications companies she was called upon to speak at seminars held for entrepreneurs. She spoke not on how technology worked but how to grow your business using telecommunications. She also conducted in-house training classes on the use of these products in growing their businesses. She soon found that she was developing open communications between her client’s management and the people they managed.

Her enjoyment in helping other entrepreneurs achieve their dreams made her realize that she should look at this coaching as a new business idea. Upon investigation she found many coaches that were not skilled in coaching giving this profession a bad name.

Determined to bring her professional reputation to the coaching arena she searched for the knowledge that would ensure her success. She enrolled in the Coaches Training Institute where she earned her Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) designation.

She works with her clients to identify their roadblocks and set realistic goals. She provides clarity, focus and encouragement to support the client in reaching those goals. Denise helps her clients identify and remove obstacles to their success and performance by coaching them to understand themselves in a whole new way.

Denise brings an honest, empathetic, strong, intuitive style and is totally committed to serving her clients. She is able to bring to her clients a quiet stability that makes it easy for them to collaborate. She has established a strong reputation for her ability to apply organizational and motivational skills, as well as humor, to improve business results.

Ken CarlsonKen Carlson, owner of Authentic Development, has a passion for helping people come alive.

Ken has an extensive background in science marketing and teaching at the university level. With various leadership roles at small businesses and large corporations, Ken discovered that coaching his associates and students was what he was made to do. In 2008, he made his dream a reality by starting Authentic Development. Authentic Development’s name comes out of a belief that people will not change until they learn the truth about themselves. Change must come from the inside and a one on one relationship with a coach or a friend is the best way for people to make the choices that will help them reach their goals.

Ken believes that the most important things in life are relationships. Their influence will be the only thing that outlasts this life. His most critical relationships are with his wife Rachel, his college-aged son Andy, and high school daughter Molly. Ken and Rachel love to travel together—especially the Caribbean. Andy is studying software engineering at MSOE with the goal of designing video games. Finally, Molly and dad’s favorite activity together is watching Temperance Brennan and Booth on the TV show “Bones.”

Ken loves the outdoors and relishes a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area as often as possible. Ken is also a triathlon freak, having done eight in the last 18 months—including an IronMan 70.3 in July 2010.

Past President - Ben Dooley, PCC
www.bedo.org/coaches
630-484-2336
ben@bedo.org

Do you BeDo? That's what I sure want to know. You know, this coaching thing is pretty cool. After discovering I could use the first two letters of my name to accurately describe my philosophy in coaching, I’ve been busy trying to let that message out. “Once we’re clear on who or how we want to BE, the DO-ing simply falls into place. After all, we're human BE-ings right? Not Human DO-ings.” (Yeah, I know, a little cliché, but it’s true, right?) I’ve done just about every coach training there is at CTI, and somewhere along the line, I made the conscious choice to BE a coach, and although the road has been challenging, it’s also rewarding. With commitment, support and focus, the DO-ings have been pouring in and keeping me an extremely busy boy.

In fact, what the heck was I thinking when I took on this CCF Board position? Well, actually, it makes perfect sense and is in alignment with my passion and purpose.

You see, I am committed to building and growing powerful coaches. That’s my specialty—working with coaches to not only get the most out of their training and skill development, but to also discover their “Inner Coach” so they can BE powerful and confident coaches, and DO successful coaching, in just about any way I can:

  • A One-on-one blend of Coaching and Mentoring.
  • A Certification Exam Prep mini-course that helps coaches turbo-boost their skills and eliminate all exam anxiety. (How about that?)
  • The Coaching Skills Forum, a telecall for all coaches who want to deepen their coaching skills.
  • The Coaching Skills Game—a card game you can play with other coaches to help each other become stronger and more powerful in your coaching skills and confidence.
  • The “BeDo Bits” newsletter, dedicated to helping coaches grow powerful, confident, and successful… Bit by Bit.

And now, somewhere in the midst all of this, I have the delicious opportunity to channel some of this creativity and commitment to you, the Chicago Coaches, so that together we can all discover new and exciting ways to grow each other as well as the coaching profession.

To quote Flounder in the film Animal House, “Oh boy, this is gonna be great!”
